Pearlweed (Hemianthus Micranthemoides)
You will receive a clump of 4–8 Pearlweed (Hemianthus Micranthemoides) stems, freshly harvested and packed to arrive healthy and ready to plant.
Pearlweed is a perennial favorite in the planted tank hobby, prized for its tiny, bright green leaves that cluster densely along each stem. Left to grow freely it forms a beautiful bushy mid-ground accent; trimmed low and allowed to spread, it creates a lush, fine-textured carpet that rivals HC Cuba at a fraction of the difficulty. When healthy, it pearls oxygen bubbles along its leaves — a stunning effect in any tank.
✦ What you're getting
Each clump contains 4–8 individual stems, giving you an instant visual impact and a strong foundation to propagate from. Stems are grown emersed, arriving with established roots that anchor quickly and transition to submersed growth with ease.
✦ Care at a glance
• Difficulty: Easy to moderate
• Lighting: Medium to high (carpeting requires higher light)
• CO₂: Not required, but accelerates carpeting growth
• Fertilizer: Benefits from liquid ferts or root tabs
• Temperature: 68–82°F (20–28°C)
• pH: 6.0–7.5
• Placement: Foreground to mid-ground; excellent carpeting plant
✦ Growth & propagation
Pearlweed is a fast, rewarding grower. Trim stems regularly to encourage dense, lateral branching. Cuttings root readily — simply press trimmed tops into the substrate and they'll take hold within days. Under strong light and CO₂ it will carpet a tank floor with minimal effort.
